Addressing Racial Trauma: Responding to Race-Related Stress and Embodying Culturally Responsive Care

Course Description

This workshop aims to create a space for open dialogue and increased awareness of culturally responsive clinical care. The first half in the four-hour workshop builds a foundational understanding of what race-based traumatic stress is and how it impacts mental health. The second half of the four-hour workshop focuses on utilizing emotion regulation-based skills and values-based actions to promote healing in clients coping with race-based stressors. This is an intermediate training suitable for clinicians with established basic clinical skills to build upon.
