The First Conversation
A pivotal conversation in Oklahoma City between two visionary psychologists sets the foundation for culturally competent psychological services for American Indians.

Dr. Carolyn Attneave (Delaware and Cherokee) and Dr. Joseph Trimble (Lakota) have their first conversation about establishing a Network of Psychologists to support American Indians' need for culturally competent psychological services.

This conversation would prove to be the catalyst for a movement that continues to grow 50+ years later.
