Sacred Narratives: Reclaiming Identity Through Psychology

SIP Convention is held at Utah State University in Logan, which is located on the ancestral and traditional lands of particularly the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, with historical ties to Ute, Paiute, and Goshute peoples. We honor their enduring connection to this land and recognize their sovereign rights.

Join us for an inspiring and impactful event where practitioners, students, and leaders gather to examine current and past research on Indigenizing psychology and strengthening support for Indigenous communities. Experience engaging presentations, a compelling keynote speech, and valuable opportunities to connect, collaborate, and develop. Don’t miss out on this chance to help shape the future of culturally responsive mental health among Indigenous communities

The retreat comes together each year through the support of our community, and we would love your help in making this year’s gathering a success. As our local volunteer support has become smaller over time, we are looking for individuals willing to lend a hand in a variety of ways throughout the weekend.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help plan and prepare breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, as well as dinner on Saturday evening at camp. Camp stoves and cooking supplies will be available, but we will need support organizing meals for a larger group. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the SIP auction, camp cleanup, welcoming first-time attendees, and helping with general retreat activities.

Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or throughout the weekend, your support is deeply appreciated and helps create a welcoming and meaningful experience for everyone attending the retreat.
